Resident Contact
Contacting Residents is encouraged by visiting, taking the resident out and
use of the telephone.
Everything reasonable is done to facilitate residents visiting their
families and friends in their homes. Prior notice is helpful simply to
organise the packing of essential personal items and to exclude any resident
from any activities organised for that period of absence. Efforts are made
to provide transport but this must be subject to the availability of
transport and staff.
Every effort is made to each resident on an annual holiday is they wish.
Every opportunity is exploited to arrange a party, disco or barbecue. Open
days will also be held.
A Resident Handbook is available in both written and pictorial format.
An open door policy during the day time hours allows residents and visitors
freedom to come and go as they please. It also gives the residents freedom
of the grounds.
Inherent in this is an element of risk and this must be accepted as part of
our operational policy when considering a placement in our home.
For visitors we do ask for an informing telephone call to ensure the person
they are visiting is at home. We are a long way out for a wasted journey. |
