Staff

The staff at Ellens Court has had in-service training which has covered the needs of all of the residents who live in the home. Regular staff meetings are held covering all aspects of the residents’ needs.  The Clinical Psychologist holds staff meetings to assist the staff to have a better understanding of the complexities of the residents’ personalities and behaviours.

 As in any close environment there are times when personalities clash, but for the majority of the time residents and staff get on well together. The staff have a variety of skills and these are employed to the full for the care of the residents.

Ellens Court is staffed by:

A Manager, a Deputy manager, 8 Care Staff, 2 Night Staff, 2 PT Cooks, 2 Domestic Staff and1 Caretaker.

There is always a minimum of 3 staff on duty during the day and 1 Wakeful person at night.  In addition to this, there is always standby staff in case of emergencies.

We pursue a policy of ongoing staff training.  The courses are chosen to keep abreast of progress and development in the caring profession.  It is expected and the staff are encouraged, to keep up to date to ensure that we are always able to provide the best of care.
