Professional Care
Medical Advice
This
is provided by the General Practitioners, usually of the resident’s choice.
If needed the GP used by the home is located only a few miles away.
Chiropody
This
is a service provided by the home. A Professional Chiropodist visits every
six weeks, more often if required.
Clinical Psychology
A
Professional Psychologist visits the home on a regular basis and assists in
the compiling and reviewing of all Care Plans, Risk Management and
Guidelines. He also runs staff training sessions around the guidelines and
procedures set for each individual resident. Meetings are held with
individual residents at their request.
Psychiatric Assessment
Psychiatric
assessment and treatment is provided by a referral from the GP. Local
services are used.
Speech Therapy
This
is provided by the local Community Disability Team. The Speech Therapists
assess the resident and then liaises with the resident and the staff to
implement any helpful training needs.
Any further Professional input requested or needed would, where possible,
be implemented.
